2013Created by Mr. Vivier in 1963 for his own brand, the bold and sophisticated Virgule heel is shaped as a comma – as suggested by its name – and acts as a vibrant exclamation point. First introduced with the Fall/Winter 2013-2014 Rendez-Vous Limited Edition collection, Bruno Frisoni breathes new life into it. Updated with a higher heel and a more contemporary shape, the Virgule becomes a modern classic in the Fall/Winter 2013-2014 Sexy Cult collection.
2012Bruno Frisoni takes inspiration from the geometric patterns characterizing Mr. Vivier's impromptu collages to create the Prismick line, a collection of shoes, bags, small leather goods and jewelry. Today the distinctive works of art decorate the walls of the Roger Vivier’s Silver Room.

1954Roger Vivier increases the height of the heel from 6 to 8 cm: the Aiguille stiletto is born.
1953Christian Dior launches a footwear division and hires Roger Vivier as shoe designer. For the first time in history, a couturier overtly associates his brand with that of a shoemaker with the purpose of promoting a mass-market shoe line.
1953In 1953, Roger Vivier designs a shoe embellished with a Boule - a spherical decoration - at the heel for the German actress and singer Marlene Dietrich.

1930Living in Paris, Mr. Roger Vivier is a regular at the Moulin Rouge, the Casino de Paris and the Folies Bergère. There he meets Mistinguett and Joséphine Baker, for both of whom he creates his first custom-made shoes.
